"I am not lying!" Sirius almost shouted. "I will help you, and I will not leave. Why can't you accept that?" He looked at her face, she had paled slightly and clearly didn't like him being that close.
"I know what it's like to have parents who hate you because you're different! My parentsd hated me because I wasn't sorted into Slytherin, even worse than Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, I was sorted into Gryffindor, and my parents started to realise that they'd lost their hold on me. I was eleven and my parents hated me, I dealt with it by rebelling, at school and at home. When I was sixteen I moved out. So I know what that's like." He was breathing heavily now, with anger and frustration, at his parents and because she just wouldn't listen.
"When I say I was almost in the same position as you, let me tell you what I mean. My best friend and his wife were hunted by Voldemort, so to protect them, they went into hiding and Dumbledore performed the Fidelius charm. I was to be their secret keeper, but at the last minute we decided to change it to Peter Pettigrew. We thought we were being clever, they were bound to come after me for the information, who think that we would ever use Peter? Weak little rodent that he was. Only we didn't know just how weak he was, he was a death eater, he'd fooled us all. The only people who know I wasn't the secret keeper were Me, him, Lily and James. Then Peter did the unthinkable, he told Voldemort." Sirius laughed, his bark like laugh bitter and full of emotion.
"If I hadn't gone to see them three hours early, because Quidditch practise had bee cancelled. Voldemort turned up just as Lily was putting their Son to bed. He blasted down the door and strode in, luckily he wasn't expecting me to be there, so we managed to take him by surprise, Lily James and I only just managed to take him down. Harry, thier son did his first bit of magic that night, barely a year old, he made a plate fly straight at the back of Voldemort's head, which distracted him long enough for him not to dodge the three Avada Kedavra's the flew at him as soon as we realised we had a distraction." Sirius paused nad looked down at the floor for a moment, and let go of Tant's arms.
"If they had died that night, Peter would have told the world that I had bratrayed Lily and James. I would be in Azkaban right now, I don't even think they'd have given me a trial. It could have happened so easily. They say life is unfair, but that would have been beyond unfair, just like this is beyond unfair, and I can't let it happen. If you really want me to leave, I will, but if you change your mind, or you can't cope any more, I will help you. All you've got to do is believe me. Find a Daily prophet for Halloween this year, it'll tell you all about it, the 'Fall of Voldemort', 'Wizarding World Free at Last!' I could even show you my order of Merlin, but I don't generally like to show off."
