Rhialla pushed open the big wooden doors leading to the Entrance Hall. Her heart was pounding as she once again came to the realization that this was where she belonged - that she was a witch. Her parents had kept her sheltered and hidden for as long as she could remember, but after she has mistakenly blown up the TV from the couch, they couldn't pretend any longer. They had sat her down in their bedroom, and in a few short hours she found out how her parents fell for each other, and why they kept her powers hidden. Rhialla's parents decided that they wanted her to lead a normal life, and that hopefully if she never used her powers then it would just dwindle away. Rhialla snapped back to the present in a harsh way, namely walking into a big stone statue of a elf. She dropped her all her books and leaned down to pick them up. Her long redish-brown hair fell like a curtain around her face, and she quickly pushed it back up...her parents never let her cut it. Her piercing ice blue eyes scanned the floor to see if she missed anything, and seeing nothing, she stood up, took a deep breathe, and pushed open the double doors, and stepped into her new life as a witch...

Chloe was bored. She had finished all her homework. She remembered at times like this, her parents would nag her to go out, take a stroll-- breathe in some fresh air. She looked at her books. They were stacked up neatly beside her book bag. A sigh escaped from her lips. She tapped the edge of her quill on a blank parchment. She checked her books, once again, trying to see if she had forgotten something. Chloe felt rather pathetic. She was so bored she had resulted in looking for more homework to do. Finally, she decided to go for a walk.
Chloe was less of the social type and more like the quiet, stay-at-home type. Anything that involved her being physical would put her out. Her parents were the total opposites. They were both active and they loved being out in the sun. She considered herself to be more of a vampire than a witch. Sometimes she would even go as far as wondering if they adopted her.
She quickly walked down the stairs. Her mind quickly wondered why this school lacked elevators. Muggles had convenient contraptions, she had to admit. She finally reached the entrance hall. The doors leading out were so close. After walking all this way, she just wanted to go back up. This was a nice enough stroll. She was just about to turn around when she noticed a girl had pushed through the doors. A new student? Chloe asked herself.

Ooc: It's fine. that's just Rhialla's first ever post on any rp site. Im just helping her learn the basics. Btw, are you just a new member, or are you someone from carney? (school i go to) <.<
Ic: Jayden had finally said goodbye to his friends and pushed back his chair while simultaneously sweeping back his hair with his hand as he began to walk towards the end of the Great Hall. He always had enjoyed breakfast time at Hogwarts, as it gave him a chance to converse with his own House. Especially since most of his friends were in other houses, he felt it was a good idea to at least have a few in his own.
He pushed open the large doors that connected the Great Hall to the Entrance hall, still holding a stack of toast in his left hand, and stopped when he saw two people he did not recognize before. He doubted that they had been at the school long, or were even at breakfast. He decided that he might as well go introduce himself. After all, he had been in the same situation a couple of weeks ago. Although that seemed like ages now.
Jayden was wearing a band t-shirt, his favorite band actually. He had even gone to see their concert in England. It had the name "Arctic Monkeys" emblazoned on the front, and he was wearing dark blue, nearly black jeans to go with it. It was a Saturday, so he didn't have to worry about classes and such. Finally reaching the pair, he gave them both a small smile and said, "Hello, I don't believe I've seen you around before. What should I call you?" Eyes shining briefly, he looked at the two girls.
He thought that he might recognize the one in blue robes from one of the meals a few nights ago, but he wasn't sure. The other girl was a newcomer for sure, as she still had her luggage with her. She sort of reminded him of Alyssa, who had come to the school at the same time as Jayden. The only bad part of that whole day had been the fact that he had managed to irritate somebody: Jane. Dog of trouble, indeed.
Realizing that he had forgotten to introduce himself, he shoved his hands in his pockets and added, "I'm sorry, I'm afraid I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Jayden. Jayden Hawls." A smile came over his face as he realized that he had introduced himself in the fashion of a famous muggle spy, James Bond. He wondered if the two of them would catch on (if they even were Muggles.) If not, he would be able to escape with the corny comment unscathed.

~~~Ooc - its fine.i dont mind.im just getting started so post away ~~~
Rhialla was startled by the sudden arrival of the two newcomers. She had never had people come up to her and be friendly before. All the people on her street thought her somewhat of an oddity because of her parents' love for things that blow up...
The boy said his name was Jayden, and she vaguely thought it was a nice name. Rhialla supposed that she had to get used to learning all these new names. She smiled at the boy and said "My names Rhialla, I'm in Sixth year...you can just call me Rhee though." Then as an after-thought she decided to play a little joke on the boy while making it clear to them that she lived as a muggle before, and added "And im very glad to met you..Mr. Bond"with the most warm smile on her face that she could possibly get without breaking her jaw.
As she took in the appearance of the two students she realized that neither of them were looking at each other with recognition. "I guess im not the only newbie here." she thought.
She first studied the boy called Jayden. She took in his hair, and his eyes, the way he smiled, everything about him. {It was something her parents always told her to do when she met someone new; to try to see if they meant her harm...she never quite understood why}... After it was clear that the boy was safe, she allowed her mind to float past the fact that he was quite good looking. But she quickly shook that out of her mind, because, as she told herself, a good looking young man who probably has been here for years, already has a girlfriend.
Rhialla turned to the girl, and quickly decided that she was a kind girl. Once again, she took in the fact that she looked nice, if a little pale. She found herself wondering if she had just found some friends here within this whole new world she had just been pushed into.
Chloe continued walking down the stairs, hoping she wasn't looking condescending. She looked as a boy entered the great hall. She vaguely remembered seeing him sitting at Ravenclaw's table. She tried to see if she could remember his name. Nothing came to mind. She came to a conclusion that they had never spoken. He probably wasn't even in the same year as her, because she doubted that he was in any of her classes. Probably a sixth year student, she guessed, judging from his appearance.
Her eyes fell onto the boy's shirt. Arctic monkeys. She had heard of that band. Wasn't it a muggle band? She didn't really pay much attention to the 'In' music. She looked at his attire, then back at hers. Even though it was a Saturday she still wore her blue trimmed robes. She really was strange, she had to admit.
Chloe giggled when he did a small James Bond parody. It was amazing she actually caught on to that. It was one of the few movies she had actually watched. She noticed that Rhialla understood the joke as well. So they all had something in common.
Chloe turned her attention towards Rhialla. She noticed that she looked quite young. "Are you in your fifth or sixth year?" She asked curiously. "And if you're in your seventh, then I envy that you look so young." She joked. Then she remembered that she hadn't properly introduced herself yet. "I'm sorry, I'm Chloe Rhodes, seventh year. Pleased to meet you both." She gave them a warm smile. "By the way, what house are you hoping to get sorted into?" Chloe asked inquiringly. "I hope you get into Ravenclaw, our house is the nicest, and the best!" She joked and pointed to the Ravenclaw insignia on her robe.
~~Ooc: Jay knows who i am...and my school...i think he was asking you lol./..and im curious too if you dont mind me asking..~~
Rhialla had to wonder why everyone was being kind! Didnt they notice that she didnt fit in?...although that was just her opinion...she really did fit in...
She noticed that the other girl laughed when Jayden did the James Bond thing. "Well at least someone else gets it" she thought to herself. She had asked what year she was in, but Rhialla was so overwelled by people that all she could say was "I...I'm in...I"...Her face went bright red and she tried to cover it up by saying that she hoped to get into Gyrffindor. After all, were they not supposed to be brave and cunning and all that? The very thing that Rhialla hoped someday to be? She quickly realized the girl might be offended and added, "Not that Ravenclaw is bad or anything, its just the Gyrffindor is the only house i really know anything about.." She finished with a weak smile and wished with all her might that she hadnt just lost a friend before she even got one....Rhialla wanted to look at Jayden for help, but felt to odd asking someone she just met for help...so she stayed quiet and hoped that things would be alright
Ooc: Yeah, i was talking to you Chloe. Do you go to carney? Because if so, that would be reallllly weird....Alyssa Weller from the site goes to the same school.
Jayden had stood back for a few minutes and let the girls chat as he watched their expressions carefully. He noticed that the newcomer seemed to be watching him a fair bit, and he blushed slightly as he realized what the connotations were. Oh well, he was probably over thinking things anyways. Fidgeting slightly, he stuffed his free hand into his pocket, looking for something. When he didn't find what he was looking for, he sighed quietly and returned to nibbling on his stack of toast.
Looking up when Rhialla made fun of his James Bond moment, he blushed furiously and looked away. The old side of Jayden was returning after weeks of hibernation, so he tried to brush away the embarrassment. "Sorry about that. It just kind of came out that way." Laughing now, he smiled back at the girl. She must be a Muggle..... he thought, or else she at least interested in what Muggles do. He remembered a friend who had been nearly obsessed with Muggle thing such as toasters and televisions, finding it wondrous that they still used such 'Oudated" stuff.
Jayden nodded absent-mindedly as he heard Rhialla say that she was in sixth year. Turning back to her, he said, "You'll be in the same year as me then. Lots of sixth years are turning up randomly throughout the whole year. Hell, I came to the school only a month ago myself. So you aren't the only newbie around here." He found it strange that so many people were turning up midway through the school year, but pushed the thought aside: He would wonder about it later.
As the other girl cautiously walked down the stairs, he studied her face, wondering if she was a newcomer as well. She didn't quite look like it, but you could never really tell. Or, at least, Jayden usually couldn't. He noticed her looking down at something on him, so he quickly looked down and tried to see if he had spilt something on himself. Seeing nothing, he shrugged and looked back up.
When she asked him what year he was in, his head jerked up and he said, "I'm in sixth year. People have told me that I look pretty old for my age, but maybe they are just mistaken." Smiling slightly, he watched as Rhialla began to say something and then turned a bright shade of red. Laughing quietly to himself, he heard her explain that she only knew about Gryffindor. "Well, it's pretty simple. Gryffindors are courageous but brash, Hufflepuffs are loyal, Ravenclaws are supposed to be smart, and Slytherins are sneaky gits." After he said this, he remembered Jonnie, and added, "Well, some of them are anyways. The stuck up ones, that is."
He nodded in agreement when Chloe said that their house was the best, and murmured, "Well, it's one of the better ones anyways. I was hoping for either Gryffindor or Ravenclaw, so I know what you mean Rhialla. Nothing's wrong with either. Or Hufflepuff, for that matter. Some of my best friends are from Hufflepuff."
Chloe laughed at Rhialla's awkward actions. "it's alright. Everyone wants to be in Gryffindor." She said smiling. Even she wanted to get into that house. She felt slightly relieved that one of her guesses were correct. Chloe didn't want the girl to feel offended if she was actually a third year of something like that. "Sixth year, only a year behind me. At least now I know I'm not totally old!" She turned her attention back to the boy. She walked towards him, "Supposed to be smart?" She asked, referring back to his small commentary about the houses. "Don't diss your own house!" She said in a way where everyone could tell she was joking.
Chloe glanced back at Rhialla, able to tell that she was feeling rather 'scared'. "You don't have to be nervous, I was bloody scared my first day too. But it's easy to make friends." She smiled and nodded. "You already have two!" Chloe grinned and looked over a Jayden. She noticed her hand had involuntarily formed a number 2. She quickly put it down, feeling embarrassed. She knew she was indicating two, but it also looked like she was being a hippie and making a peace sign. Whatever it was, it certainly wasn't cool. "Even if one of your two new friends aren't exactly the coolest of all students." Chloe mumbled and continued.
OOC~heyy sorri it took so long for me to rely...had a lot goin on~
Rhialla breathed a sigh of relief when Chloe said that she had friends. She wanted desperately to make a good impression on them both so she said "Yeah i am a little nervous about this all...i only just found out that im a witch to be honest. And trust me, you guys are cool, even if you dont think you are."
She looked over at Jaden once again. But she forced herself to turn her eyes away..after all, why would HE be interested in HER? Her heart had its little mourning session for about a split second, and then she was over it. Rhialla wasnt one to let emotions like a crush get in the way of things.
She glanced toward the big double doors leading into the room where her house would be set for the next few years, and shivered. Rhialla was much more nervous then she was letting on. Everything about this place terrified her; even if there was nice people her.
She hesitated and then said, "Do you guys think we should go into the next room now? After all, i do have to get my house sorted soon. I need a place to sleep tonite" Rhialla replayed that sentence in her mind, and inwardly cursed herself for making such a lame joke. She smiled shyly and turned her eyes to the floor.
