Jayden was strolling around the castle in the early morning when he suddenly realized that he hadn't seen hide nor hair of anybody so far. Grumbling to himself, he continued to walk through the castle, pausing to jump behind cover as Peeves swept past. Finally nearing his destination, he walked out into the morning dew of the gardens and sat down on one of the benches. He began playing with his partially-combed hair, waiting for something to happen. Of course, knowing his luck, it would probably be trouble that would happen.
A few minutes later, thoroughly bored, Jayden decided that he might as well do something to pass the time. Looking around him, he watched the birds on the spire of the Astronomy Tower fly off towards the lake, which was unnaturally calm at this point in the morning. Hogwarts seemed like an incredibly peaceful place in the morning, when there were no students milling about. There wasn't any loud noises either, so this made for a very quiet place. A good one to just sit and think.
He wondered what Twilight and Jasmine thought of his slip-up back in the corridors. Maybe they just forgot about it, writing it off as nothing. Or maybe they were curious to why he cut himself off so abruptly. Either way, Jayden was trying to worry about it less, and just see what happened. He should feel protected here, Hogwarts was known to be one of the safest places to be. Especially when he was surrounded by numerous students and teachers. They couldn't get him here. Even if they knew where he was located.

Twilight sighed. Her very bones felt heavy. Twyla wished she could just sit somewhere and think uninterrupted. Suddenly she had an idea. Twyla began to walk with more speed, desperately hoping she wouldn't meet Peeves along the way. She sped through deserted hallways before she realized that the only people she had seen today were people in the common room. It couldn't be that early. Usually Twyla got up in exactly enough time to get ready and make it to class without being late.
Finally she reached the huge doorway that led outside. Hurrying through it, she saw her destination. The gardens. Twyla loved to go and sit there, to forget about her troubles and be a normal kid again. This was what she was hoping to do now. Twyla slowed down as she neared the gardens. Hoping her sister wouldn't be there as she sometimes was, Twyla entered. With a sigh, she breathed in the sweet smells of flowers. A small smile inched across her face. Happy, she wandered around for a bit before deciding to find a bench.
Twyla walked around, searching for one of her favorite benches. Finally she spotted a bit of the iron leg workings of one. Twyla hurried over to it and stopped. A familiar figure was sitting there. Thankfully, it wasn't her sister. Jayden was sitting on there. He hadn't noticed Twyla so she began to back away. Sadly, she wasn't watching where she was headed and bumped into a bush behind her. It made a small sound and Twyla bolted. She wasn't paying attention to where she was going and tripped over a tree root. Twyla gasped with pain as she hit the ground.

Absorbed in his thoughts, Jayden didn't know that Twilight was even standing next to him before he heard a bush rustling and something thump to the ground. Turning around in slight shock, he saw Twyla on the ground, writhing in pain. Jayden jumped up from the bench and helped her get back up. Smiling slightly, he asked her, "How the heck did you manage to trip? Or sneak up on me so well? You should be a ninja. Y'know, I think you would be stealthy enough to make the cut."
Jayden then returned to the bench and offered Twilight the seat next to him before adding, "What are you doing up so early today? I couldn't sleep, so I figured I might as well get up and do something. It's kind of relaxing being here, anyways." As he waited for her response, he picked a stick up off the ground and twirled it, imitating a wand's movements, and then laughed at his childishness. Sometimes Jayden amazed himself with how juvenile he could be at times.
Looking back at Twilight, he was happy to see that she seemed a lot happier now, or at least, she was trying to. Maybe the talk in the corridor with Jasmine had helped lift her spirit a bit, as sometimes people just needed company to feel better. Jayden knew the truth of this, as he often confided in his guardian back at home just to take some pressure off of his shoulders. Even if there was an age gap, sometimes his guardian reminded him of someone who wasn't a parent, but just a close friend. Jayden missed him more than ever now.

Twyla smiled. The pain had abated slightly and now her leg was just throbbing. "Ninja? I think not. Too much work. Managing to trip on a tree root when you're not paying attention is actually quite simple. You just let your foot hit the root while running and you go flying. But don't try it. It's actually a bit painful..." she replied with a grin.
Twyla leaned back against the bench. The birds were just waking up and sweet sounds were filling the gardens. "Getting up early? No idea how I managed it. Why'd you come here? Out of all the places you could be you chose the gardens?" she asked. Her eyes closed and she realized just how at home she felt here.
Her house back home had a huge garden that Twyla had always loved to play in. Rora used to love it too. They had grown so many things, even fruits and vegetables. Those had been used for the family restaurant and bakery. Twyla missed the sweet smell of strawberry tarts. Her mother's had always been the tastiest and Twyla had been allowed to try making some when she helped out there. Another smile played across her lips.

Jayden laughed when Twyla said that being a ninja would be too hard, and that tripping over a tree root wasn't hard at all. Leaning in, he said, "Well, I suppose that being a ninja would be pretty hard work. But I thought you would be active enough for it...I guess I was wrong." Grinning, he watched her expression carefully, waiting for her response to the jibe. Raven loved teasing people, although that had gotten him into a spot of trouble with Jane....
When Twyla asked him why he had come here of all the places he could have go, Jayden didn't really have an answer. As he mulled over the question, he finally realized why he was here, and told her, "I think I came here because it's a lot more relaxing of a place then the rest of the grounds. You can just re-connect to nature and it's also a great place to think." Looking around, he asked her, "So why did you come here?" Jayden knew that it was kind of a lame question, especially since she had just asked the same thing, but he was curious to as why she was drawn here.
Jayden loved being outside, as one of his favorite things to do was playing Quidditch. He loved the feeling of the wind rushing at him, the exhileration of the sport, and just the sense of pride it gave him. He didn't know if he was any good at it, but he loved it nonetheless. It was the perfect outlet from school life. Now all he had to do was find someone who played Quidditch at Hogwarts.
Turning back to Twyla, he asked her, "Do you know of anybody who plays Quidditch? I've been aching to play since I came here, but I don't really know many people. Do either your or Jasmine play?"

Twyla smiled wryly. Jay sure knew how to tease people. That was good. She would get along well with him. Twyla loved teasing people and driving them insane. She and Rora had had a few good natured fights thanks to that. Twyla knew some people hated it but she didn't care. It was one thing she was actually good at.
She looked over at Jay. "Why did I come here? It reminds me of home. And it's quiet. At my house we have a huge garden like this that I helped plant. I always loved to go sit in there or play around in there. Even Rora would come with me at times." she replied with a smile. She was thinking about other things until Jay's voice brought her back to earth.
"Quidditch? No, I don't play. I'd recommend you ask Jas herself if she plays. Better to hear the answer from her. Rora plays though. Don't talk to her. She's actually a real brat nowadays." Twyla replied. She looked around for any interesting flowers. One in particular caught her eye. It was a beautiful thing, pink and white with large soft petals opening up. Twyla quickly got up and picked it. She sat down again with it in her hand. Carefully, Twyla placed the flower behind her ear where it fit perfectly.

Jayden listened to Twyla's explanation of why she had been drawn to the gardens, and smiled as she reminisced about the plants that she grew. He then told her, "I used to have something similar to that. Although I would mostly watch and other people would do the real work. I've always been fascinated with nature." He began to reminisced himself, remembering the good days when Father would be out working in the garden, as he sat outside and kept him company. He would always miss those days.
Jayden laughed heartily as he heard Twyla tell him that she didn't play Quidditch, although her sister did. Jayden wondered if Jas played or not, and decided in his own mind that she probably did. After all, she seemed like the type to try anything. Raven himself didn't really have a set position in Quidditch, but loved played nonetheless. At Beauxbatons, people usually put him as a Beater. It felt good to take out your fustrations on the Bludger.
He watched her suddenly get up and pick a beautiful flower from the gardens before returning to her seat. He then asked her, "What kind of plants did you grow in the gardens? I used to love learning the names of all the different ones." His father had also taught him secret little remedies to use in certain situations, and although Jayden could hardly remember any of them now, he still valued the fact that his dad had strived to teach him.
