Jayden had ran up to the Ravenclaw Common Room after his class had ended, stowing his stuff in his small area space in the boys dormitory before speeding downstairs, nearly knocking over a few people who were ascending the spiral staircase. Apologizing frequently, he continued running towards the exit of the Common Room. Stopping for a moment to catch his breath, he caught the eye of a few of his classmates and grinned sheepishly.
He was in an odd mood that day, and felt the inexplicable urge to run.....everywhere. It seemed to him that walking at a slow pace didn't make any sense at all. While his body continued moving, his mind stopped: Had he been drinking last night? He couldn't remember. Maybe just a few bottles of Butterbeer, but nothing strong enough to make him like this. Maybe he was just....high on life?
He shook these thoughts away, and continued on, slowing down a considerable amount. He decided that he might as well go to the Gardens: He loved it there, and he had met a few of his friends there. Perhaps he would meet another there today. He hadn't seen much of his friends lately, he had been quiet consumed by his studies. That's why he was looking forward to socializing to make up for lost time. That is, as long as the garden wasn't completely empty.
He had also changed while he had been in the Common Room, taking off his black robes and putting on a thick sweater and some sweat pants. He knew that it was going to be bloody cold outside, so he figured he might as well prepare for it. Luckily, it looked colder than it actually was, so when he stepped outside, he actually felt fairly warm. But he could also see a bit of frost edging the plants encompassing the garden.
Instead of sitting down as he usually would when coming to the gardens, he decided to walk around and look at all the different plants. Although there were far less than there had been last time he had been there: It was the middle of the winter, and it had been quite an unforgiving one for the wildlife and plants. Many of them were already dead, only the evergreen ferns and trees were left unwilted.
Jayden twirled his wand as he walked, noticing that some of the different plants he had never really seen before. Although he was curious, he stayed back from some of the ones still living: He had learned a painful lesson in Herbology when he let his curiosity get the better of him. After that incident, he preferred to stand back and watch, just in case something tried snapping back at him.
