Rory smiled as she pushed open the doors of the castle and saw that the weather was cold and misty. She loved these kind of mornings, where the fog and mist was all over and you could barely see anything. She sighed as she started to walk over to a tree. It was early in the morning and she doubted that anyone would be up this early, so she decided to come outside.
She took a big breath of the cold morning air and let the air back out. She could see her breath, so she kept doing that so that she could see her breath coming out. Once she got down to the tree, she sat down and leaned against it. The Lake was still and everything was quiet. She was comforted to know that she was alone. She loved everything about being alone. It gives you more time to think. Rory sighed and grabbed a book out of her bag and began reading. She wish she had more time to read, but everything had gotten so busy that she couldnt take any time to herself. So she was thankfull that she finally got some time to herself to read. She was on the last page and she couldnt believed that she depraved herself from reading it that long. When she got done with the book, she took a big breath of air. She called that the last breath of the book. Then she put it back in her bag.
Rory then grabbed a piece of her hair and started twirling it. She decided that her hair was boring her, so she all of a sudden turned her dull black hair into a different color. Well, it was rather the same but it had a few turquoise streaks in her hair as well as her bangs were turquoise. She smiled, satisfied with the change. She was a Metamorphmagi and it was always fun for her to change her hair into different random colors whenever she wanted. She was just like her mother. She was a Metamorphmagi as well. Her smile faded as she thought of her mother. She missed her so. As she began thinking of her mother, she leaned her head back on the tree, closed her eyes and tried to remember every detail of her.

~OOC Okay, you asked for it!~
Jonnie was thinking of the Lake as he left the school. Classes were done for the day, and he thought a nice swim might cool off his heated nerves. Sometimes he would do that, just for the calming effect the water had on him. And to be calm again sounded wonderful to his overworked mind and imagination. His last encounter with Bella had sent shock waves through his life, as he never thought he could find love again after losing his last girlfriend to an accident that seemed so pointless. He sighed heavily as the clear waters of the Lake came into view. He was looking over the waves, and almost stumbled into the girl that had already been standing there.
He jumped back a few inches, and placed his smile on his face. It was a Gryffindor and he did not feel like fighting at the moment. The tensions between the houses seemed to be cool for the moment, all he needed was an accident to flare things up again. He nodded to her, and let his smile relax some, so it did not appear so forced.
"Oh, I am sorry, I swear I did not see anyone out here just then. I guess my mind was somewhere else. Where you going for a swim?" He did not want to sound rude, and if she was going to use the Lake he did not want to intrude on her private moments.

Just as Anne was drifting to sleep, someone said something and she jumped. She then looked up and saw that it was Jonnie, a Slytherin that she often saw walking through the halls. She stood up and said, "No, don't worry about it. It's actually nice to have company. Unless you don't want to talk to me. Because it's fine if you don't."
Anne remembered Jonnie from last year. They got into many duels. She lost a lot and actually won a few. They would always get into arguments. They didn't really get along at all but she thought she'd start out this year by being nice to him. She gave him a small smile and looked out onto the lake. She began to get a little cold and she put her arms around herself and rocked on her feet.
She then turned to Jonnie and said, "So, how was your summer? If you dont mind me asking."
Anne then leaned against the tree and took another deep breath of the cold, refreshing morning air. She sighed as the fog started to clear. She loved the fog and was always sad when it drifted away in the mornings. She closed her eyes as she took in another deep breath.

Jonnie smiled to her as he recalled who she was. This was the girl who had turned his hair green last year, just because he was a Slytherin, he wanted to curse her so bad that day, but she had been standing beside none other than Dumbledore, and it never would do to curse someone in plain sight of the Headmaster, no matter who it was. He returned the smile and decided to sit down with his main rival at the school. He knew she was a year younger than he was, but just as gifted. Jonnie might have had a few more tricks than she did, but what she knew, she had used very well. He secretly admired her talent, but would refuse to admit that, even under an Impervious curse. He laughed at the thought, then glanced to the Lake.
"Summer was," he paused to reflect his own thought not sure how to exactly term his Summer this past. It had been different, and he thought that was the perfect word to use. "Different." He smiled to her, and thought maybe she might understand what he was saying. She had always seemed so clever.
He thought about his Summer, and actually the last part of it was the only part that made any real sense to him. After meeting Bella, he had thought that his Summer had been boring until that moment. But, he was sure she did not want to hear all that, so he let it go at that, with a soft smile as he touched his lip absently.
"And yours?"

Having skipped breakfast today, Jacen just ate the apple he had stopped at the kitchens to grab. He had a few more and couple drinks in his bag.
He sees a fellow gryfindor and smiles before taking out another apple and offering her one with a smile. "want one?" he with a smile, just in the normal robes his hair being the only strange thing since it was black but with blond high lights

Rory opened her eyes and laughed. "Different, huh?" She said, "Oh, mine was.. well.. it was summer."
She decided that was one of the ways of putting it. She hated summer. Partially because she had to leave Hogwarts and partially because she was scared about not being under Hogwart's protection. She then thought of her dad. She shivvered at the thought of him. She looked at Jonnie and thought Oh my gosh. That's the reason why Jonnie and I never got along. He's a Slytherin just like my dad. I was a jerk just because he was a Slytherin? I'm so stupid. I've become what I never said I would. I've judged him because of his house. Wow. I haven't even gotten to know him. She then sat down next to Jonnie.
Rory then took a deep breath, looked at Jonnie and said, "Look, I'm really sorry... about last year.. and the year before. I was a complete jerk and I'm sorry. You were never mean to me until I started being mean to you. That's not who I am. I was so stupid. I never even took the chance to know you. There are some things behind why I was mean to you but they have nothing to do with you. So, I'm really sorry."
She then looked down at the ground, picked up a rock and threw it into the lake. I despise myself. Then all of a sudden, some tenticals came up and threw the rock out of the lake really fast and it hit Rory in the head. "OW!" She cried out. Her eyes watered up with the pain and she felt her forehead. "Stupid fish!" she spat back at it.
Then she heard someone sit down and she noticed that it was Jacen, a guy from Gryffindor that she had known since her first year. He offered her an apple and she took it and said, "Oh, thankyou. How come you're up so early?"
Rory then looked at Jonnie and smiled.

Jonnie looked at her, his eyes now open to her for the first time since he had known her. He was surprised she had apologized, and turned his head to look at her, he opened his mouth to say something when she tossed the rock, and had it tossed back to her. He moved to catch it but missed horribly for the first time in ages. It smacked her on the head, and Jonnie cringed it looked painful. He was about to go to her, and ask her if she was okay, and to try to talk about this with her when another Gryffindor came along. The boy had rudely interrupted, and sat down, not even noticing Jonnie was there. Or at least this is what it appeared like to Jonnie.
He shut his mouth, and sat down too, he decided to wait to talk to Rory about her apology whenever they were more alone. He did not think this conversation was for anyone else to hear. He looked between the two, and then looked out to the Lake. His thoughts started to drift further away from the conversation. He was not sure what to make of her apology, but he found that it did mean something to him. Perhaps this was the start of something different for them?
He knew it would be alot nicer to walk down the halls and not worry about her curses, or jinxes. He looked at her and smile, nodding his head softly, hoping that maybe she would somewhat understand what he was thinking. Maybe she would, she was a bright student, and seemed well connected in her own life. He could appreciate the apology, and really did.
He ran his hand through his hair, and then looked at his hand, realizing that he did this too often, more a habit than anything. He laughed softly and put his arms on his knees to turn and look at the Lake, the soft waves moving from the Giant squids swimming under the surface. Maybe this year would be different for them?
~OOC~ Wow good post, shame mine was such rubbish!~

Rory took a bite of the apple and looked at Jonnie. He seemed very uncomfortable having the other Gryffindor around. She remembered that he usually didn't talk to many Gryffindors. She would feel ackward if a random Slytherin came up when Jonnie and her were talking also. She gave him a smile as if to say that she was sorry. She then turned to Jacen and said, "Umm... I'm really sorry to be rude when you've been nice and all but.. I kind of wanted to go to the Dungeouns and Jonnie and I were kind of talking about some important stuff so, we're going to go. But we should catch up in the common room later."
She then stood up and threw the apple into the lake to kind of make up with the octopus for throwing the rock at him. Guess I'm making up with everyone today. and she laughed. Rory then grabbed Jonnie's hand and helped him up. She then started walking to the castle. Next thing, she turned to Jonnie and said, "You are okay with coming with me, right?"
Rory then looked at Jonnie oddly and said, "You don't have to if you don't want. I just figured that you might want to keep talking."

Jonnie looked at her and smiled, not knowing what to think. He went along anyway, taking a look back to the Gryffindor they were leaving behind, sitting with his apple. Jonnie did not want to seem rude, but he really did not know that kid, so he decided that going with Rory would be fine. He nodded to her, and walked along side her, wondering if she really did need to go to the Owlery. Or, for that matter, they had been talking about something really important. He thought maybe they had, but smiled to her nonetheless.
Once out of earshot of the other Gryffindor, he turned to her as they walked and gave her a slightly puzzled look. She was going to do one of three things, none of which would surprise him at her sudden turn of attitude. She was either going to curse him, kiss him, or actually make up and be his friend. He knew for sure one of those was not right, and that was the kissing part. He laughed softly and moved his hands while he spoke, as he often found himself doing.
"So do we have some where important to be?" He was sure she was lying when she had used that excuse, but it was as good a conversation starter as any, so he had said it. Curious as to what she wanted to talk more about, but he thought he knew, and smiled. It was obvious what was on her mind from the beginning, and he did not think he minded this one bit. In fact, he had always fantasized about this moment, sometimes when he was in class and she was around. He looked over at her, his smile soft on his lips as he thought about it again...
Rory actually wanted to be friends. This is what Jonnie thought.
