Jonnie had just spent one of the most remarkable nights of his life with his new girlfriend, Bella, and thought a little trip to Diagon alley for parchment and ink was just the thing he needed. He would wear out so many poor owls sending her messages, that extra supplies was called for. He looked around, the streets not as crowded now that the term was started. His little trip might cost him a detention as he had appearated from Hogsmead. He knew he could get whatever he needed there, but he had to make a stop at Gringots first. He had promised Bella matching necklaces, and was intent on finding them soon. He looked around after leaving the large bank, his change purse now bulging and decided to get a small drink first.
Luckily the juice stand was still open, so he nipped by and ordered a pumpkin juice, and took a seat. He wished he had brought his trusty guitar with him, because he had a song in his heart, and he way dying to get it down on paper, or at least strum some of the chords. He sighed and took a sip, looking around at the near empty streets.
He wondered what the day would bring as he shielded his eyes from the glare of the sun, and looked away to wards the Leaky Cauldron entrance.

After finishing off her drink at the Leaky Cauldron, Bridget slid off of the barstool, and walked briskly to the entrance of Diagon Alley. The air was abnormally cool for fall, but she didn’t mind. The breeze was nice, and Bridget had always preferred cold temperature over warm. Christmas was fast approaching, and she couldn’t help but wonder if the holiday would be different now that she had met Regulus. For once she actually had to buy gifts for people. Although she wasn’t the most experienced gift purchaser, she hoped that picking out presents for her new family members wouldn’t be too challenging. Sure, some people would have thought that November was too soon to be buying gifts, but nothing could be too early for the organized and planned Bridget.
She hesitated once she had gone a little ways into Diagon Alley. She wondered which store to try first. Back in the states when she was younger, she would have just gone to the mall, but this was a whole new ball game. It was difficult to buy presents for people that you didn’t know too much about, especially magic ones.
So there she was, wandering around in a circle and trying to find out where to go. She looked at a promising store across the street, and was immediately absorbed in reading the sign above the shop window. Bridget was so preoccupied in fact, that she didn’t notice the lamp post which was directly in front of her path. Her head reached the post before the rest of her body, managing to take her off guard, and completely knock her to the ground. Shocked at the blow, Bridget rubbed her now sore head with her palm, cursing at herself for doing something so stupid. She glanced around quickly, to see if anyone had witnessed her embarrassing moment. Unfortunately she wasn’t alone. There was a boy who looked to be about her age sitting near the drink stand. Just. Great. She pulled herself to her feet, and began dusting off her bum which was now caked in dirt. To make matters worse, she started feeling blood drip down her face. The cut that was actually on her cheek probably wasn’t nearly as bad as the gash that she was picturing (Bridget had always been dramatic) but it was bleeding nevertheless. She held her sleeve over the cut, uselessly trying to get it to stop. It was just like her to get herself into a position such as this.
(OOC: okay…I’m just going to accept you telling me off in an OOC message, because avoiding the word ‘it’ is getting tedious….)

Jonnie glanced to the girl walking close by, and watched her tag the lamp post. A quick smile appeared on his lips because it was amusing, at first. Then he noticed the blood and his smile faded. He looked concerned, being such a different Slytherin now, due to his meeting with Bella. He stood up and titled his head as he approached her. His eyes looked her over to see if there might be any more damage. The he smiled lightly, to show he was not threatening, as he walked up to her.
"Got to watch out for those things, ya know? They are sort of dangerous. Need some help there?" He motioned to wards her cut and frowned slightly, his dark eyes searching hers in hopes she would realize that he was not there to make fun of her, or harm her in any way. He doubted she would be afraid of him, but just in case. You never know how a girl will react to a Slytherin in full robes walking up to them. He proffered his hand.
"Name is Ringo. Jonnie Ringo, and I think you are bleeding just there." He smiled and offered her a tissue from the little bar with his other hand. He did not know how she would react, but Jonnie was doing his best to be friendly. He thought briefly about how his Friend Regulus would react in this situation, having Regulus as his only real role model for years has also calmed Jonnie down alot. He used to fight at the drop of a hat, but now Jonnie always sits back and judges a situation before he reacts.
Jonnie has found that this makes him even more dangerous now than before, but he had not had to fight in a long time. He rubbed his hand through his hair, forgetting about the tissue for a moment, then looking down at it, and grinning apologetically. He had his innocent look on his face, which made him look years younger than he really was.
Damn git, I can not believe I am so awkward around girls sometimes. Thought I would grow out of this by now at least. His thoughts made him smile again as he looked to the girl and wondered how she would react.

Bridget’s heart stopped when she saw the boy advance towards her. His Slytherin robes indicated that he was a student at Hogwarts, and she was shocked that a student would be in Diagon Alley. As he approached closer, his face seemed familiar, but she couldn’t place a name to it. If he was a sixth or seventh year student, then he would have only been one or two years behind her class. She hoped that he wasn’t coming over here to tease her about her little encounter with the lamp post. Bridget hated that she would be so conceited as to use stereo types, but he was a Slytherin after all, and thus capable of such actions. She braced herself for the ridicule, but to her astonishment it didn’t come. Instead the boy actually smiled at her.
“Got to watch out for those things, ya know? They are sort of dangerous. Need some help there?” she heard him ask, sounding genuinely concerned. His tone was too nice for him to be teasing her, so she figured that he was being serious. She smiled back, glad that he was being friendly. “Name is Ringo. Jonnie Ringo, and I think you are bleeding just there,” he said, offering her a tissue. Bridget accepted it gratefully, her cheeks a little flushed.
“Thank you. I like your greeting much better than the lamp post’s. I think he needs to work on his manners,” she answered chucking. “I’m Bridget Ashford, finished up at Hogwarts last year,” she explained in her usual American accent. She was surprised that she was speaking to him at all. She had always acted so shy and distant, but everything had changed after the talk with Regulus. It felt nice to have someone know about her secret. It gave her an atmosphere where she didn’t feel so trapped by it, and could actually be herself.
“A little far from Hogsmead, don’t you think?” she asked him, curious about his reason for being in Diagon Alley. He was probably sneaking off, but she could be wrong. It wasn't impossible for him to be running an errand for a teacher.
OOC: I was goosed by Sirius…I’m not supposed to use the word It in my posts, lol

~OOC~ Bri! I am sooo sorry I missed this thread. I thought I was all caught up until I wondered around and found it again. Forgive me? Will not happen again!~

Jonnie glanced at her his smile fading quickly as he had realized she knew he had been out of bounds during a school term. He knew he should had changed into his regular clothes. The several sets of muggle clothes he had tucked into his large trunk back at Hogwarts. He also realized he had just so casually given his name too. He smacked himself on the head and looked at her, a laugh playing on his lips as he blinked. He would have to do some mild damage control now.
"Oh yeah, about that. I kinda left Hogsmead, not suppose to and all, but sometimes I like to nip away. I don't suppose we could keep this to ourselves could we? I mean, it would not do for them to know I go out off on my own so often. Not that I do, first time really." He smiled lightly, knowing he might have just made matters worse for himself, if she did chose to use this knowledge. He laughed, and nodded.
"Oh manners, yeah, those things have never learned any, it is to be expected you know? No proper teaching and the like." He hoped the change of conversation would allow them to redirect from the fact that Jonnie could easily be expelled from school for this little visit to Diagon Alley. But he could only hope she was as understanding as she seemed to be on first impression. He could not put a finger on her accent, but it was far different, and sort of nice.
He tried to remember her from school, and thought that he almost could. He thought back to the previous year and went through the long list of students he could recall, and brief flashes of her face would come in, but he would lose train on the thought before he could remember. He could only hope that not remembering would not be too rude, since their ages were so close together. He decided that all talk of Hogwarts should be left up to her, he did not need to remind her that he was where he should not be.
He nodded, softly, and looked to her wound. It did not seem to be life threatening, so he was not worried much about that. He always hated to see someone get hurt though. He was a Slytherin, but not exactly like all Slytherins. He ran his hand through his hair and looked back up at her, his charming smile now back on his lips.
Well if I do get expelled, I could always go live with Bella, right? This thought did not seem too bad for him at the moment, but he would like to go ahead and finish school. There was after all some interesting rumors going on there this term, and Jonnie was too curious to miss anything.
