Bridget trembled half out of nerves, and the other part because of the freezing wind that was determined to blow her away. She had apparated outside of Regulus' apartment building minutes before, but hadn’t yet found the courage to actually walk in. Earlier in the afternoon, she stopped at Diagon Alley to pick up a few sweets for Katie. Bridget remembered Regulus telling her that he had a daughter, and Bridget figured that all little kids liked candy. Although her mother had always given her plenty of pocket money to purchase her own candy, she never failed to be jealous of the students who received gifts from their realities. Bridget didn’t want Katie to miss out on anything that she did.
She glanced at her clock, frowning at the time. It was ten minutes past six, and she sighed knowing that she would have to go in sooner or later. Loitering outside in the frigid weather for the rest of the evening was definitely not an option. Bridget tiptoed up the concrete steps, and slowly through the main door. She cautiously crept through the hallway inside the building, until she found the correct flat number. She allowed herself to have a few more seconds of preparation, before knocking on the door. She waited, suddenly worried if Regulus had changed his mind. What if Adriana hated her? But it was too late to turn back, as the handle turned, and the door to the flat opened.

Regulus opened the door of the flat to find Bridget standing there. He smiled warmly and stepped aside. "Didn't have any trouble finding us, did you?" he asked politely.
Walking into the flat, he looked around. "Hope you don't mind the mess, but with Katie around it's impossible to keep the floor clear." He looked around, seeing scattered dolls and toys everywhere. Katie herself wasn't in the main room...Regulus had last seen her heading for her bedroom, where she had even more toys. He assumed she'd stay back there and play for a while, especially when she saw that they had a stranger over.
Looking back at Bridget, he said, "It's not much...two bedrooms, a bath, a kitchen, and a living room...but we're happy here." For whatever reason, he felt the need to explain this place...perhaps because it was so different from the sprawling majesty of Hogwarts and his childhood home.
He stuck his head in the kitchen. "Adriana, love? Company's here. Bridget Ashford, she was in Ravenclaw...you know, I told you about her."

Adriana adorned in an apron she was in the kitchen humming to herself while preparing the dinner, Lasagna. While that was cooking she made a salad and several other side dishes that included breadsticks and a soup. Getting to her favorite part the dessert, she made sure everything else was cooking properly before cutting the strawberries. Piping some whipped cream into little bowls, she added pieces of pound cake and strawberries, garnishing it with powdered sugar. Strawberry shortcake was her favorite dessert.
Hearing Regulus call from the other room, she peered into the Hall smiling at their guest. “Hullo.” She said quickly before disappearing back into the kitchen. Taking off her apron, she entered the living room smiling brightly. “Of course I remember; Hullo Bridget glad you could make it.” She said warmly as she hugged her. “Sorry about the toys, even when we chase after Katie cleaning up, she still manages to sneak things by.” She said sheepishly waving her wand sending all of Katie’s toys back to their rightful locations.

The door opened completely to reveal Regulus standing happily in the doorway. Bridget smiled back at him, feeling some of her nerves disappearing at his courteous gesture. She sighed to herself, knowing that she needed to put more faith in him. If he was going to reject her, he would have done it already. She blushed, a little embarrassed at his question, wondering if he knew how long she had been standing outside. “Finding it wasn’t too difficult,” she managed to say, as Regulus invited her in. She followed him into the living room, noticing the toys that were laying in clumps on the floor. Bridget could tell that a child definitely had been there. But where was she? Bridget glanced around the room, trying to see if the girl might be camouflaged by the mess. “Hope you don’t mind the mess, but with Katie around it’s impossible to keep the floor clear.”Bridget grinned at his comment. “It’s fine really…Little ones aren’t concerned with trivial things such as company. Besides, it feels more like a home this way,” Bridget said remembering growing up in her mother’s house. She had never been allowed to do anything that involved messing up the spotless rooms. If anyone looked into the place, they wouldn’t have realized a child even lived there. "It's not much...two bedrooms, a bath, a kitchen, and a living room...but we're happy here."
Bridget smiled as she ran her finger across a wall that held family photos. The three of them looked so happy together. So perfect. She wondered if it was possible for her to ever feel that good…that complete. “It’s great. Really,” she reassured him, as he poked his head into the kitchen to tell Adriana about her arrival. Adriana had changed a little from when Bridget had known her from school, but it was still easy to recognize her. The smells that wafted from the kitchen were making her mouth water. The food probably tasted heavenly. She couldn’t help but feel relieved when Adriana greeted her with a smile. “I’m glad to be here. Thanks Regulus for inviting me over,” she answered. Walking back to the wall with the pictures, she gazed at the people captured in them. She had been so busy with her own feelings that she hadn’t bothered to think about theirs. They must be tortured having to live in isolation, away from most of their family and friends. Especially since they were used to the support. She drew her attention to one of Adriana as a little girl plopped on her fathers shoulders, her mother holding her father’s hand and looking up at them both lovingly, and her many brothers running around crazily in the background. It appeared like they were all in a park somewhere. “Do you miss them?” she wondered out loud, turning towards Adriana. (OOC: if I messed any of the info up…tell me and I’ll fix it )

Sirius apparated with a pop in a bush down the road from the entrance to Regulus and Addie's flat he straightened up and stepped out of the bush, flattening a few major wrinkles out of his sky blue button up shirt, and checking his blue denim jeans for any grass or mud stains from his chosen place fo arrival. Seeing none, he grinned, and adjusted his grip on the bottle of Rosé he held in his left hand, and taking the flowers clutched in his left elbow in his right hand, he set off down the street.
Sirius jogged up the stairs, and arrived at the front door with a grin on his face. For some reason he had always loved running up stairs, like he had always loved getting soaked in the rain, despite his mother's lectures and punishments. Sirius rapped his knuckles on the door, and waited for the call to tell him it was open, or for either Regulus or Addie to answer the door if it was locked.

Adriana turned her attention to the portrait Bridget seemed to have focused her attention on. It was of a very young version of herself, propped up on her fathers shoulder surrounded by her brothers. Being that her whole family was in the portrait she didn’t remember how or who took the picture. The picture was one of her favorites, as it captured a time when they didn’t need to worry about a certain dark lord, or his followers attacking, a peaceful wizarding world.
Smiling in somewhat of a melancholies state, she nodded. “I do, sometimes” she said mischievously. “I do see them from time to time, but its different now that most of have our own families.” She said fondly looking at Regulus. “And I’m more than happy being with mine, I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Hearing someone knock on the door, Adriana turned to Regulus, “Honey could you please answer that, I’m going to show Bri around our luxuriously childproof flat, and find where your daughter is hiding.” She said smiling brightly as she pulled Bridget with her into the hall.

Regulus nodded, watching Adriana drag Bridget off to find Katie. He was glad that things were going so well with Bridget...there was no reason for them not too, but from what she'd told him, she'd been deprived of a family for most of her life. If things went well tonight, perhaps bringing her to Black family black-tie events wouldn't be too far-fetched in the future.
He went to the door, already knowing who it was. Undoing the latch, he smiled at his older brother. "Come on in, Sirius. Bridget Ashford is here...you remember, I told you about her? She's uncle Cygnus's lovechild," Regulus said quietly, just to fill his brother in. He didn't want Bridget to feel awkward around them, and having everyone know her secret and show her that they weren't going to drive her off was probably the best possible thing for her. Regulus just didn't know how else to help. He stepped aside, giving his brother room to enter the flat, his hand still on the door to close and lock it behind him. Didn't need the neighbors spotting his little witch flying about on her favorite toy.

Sirius grinned at his brother as he opened the door. He nodded about Bridget's presence in the flat. He wasn't entire sure how to react to her, but from what he'd heard she was as much a family outcast as he was, and hopefully they'd get along fine. He hoped she was as fun as her half sister Andromeda.
"Hey bro. Have some muggle wine, thought you might like to sample some of my favourite muggle substance." he stepped into the flat, and p0assed Regulus the bottle. "Where are my two favourite women, who happen to be your favourite women too. It's a shame isn't it, I'm reduced to copying my brother's two favourite people because I have no one fo my own, unless you count Lily, but she's James'." he laughed.
He was nervous about meeting a new family member, and this was showing through his babbling, he liked to talk yes, but he wasn't usually this bad. He made a mental note to reduce the amount of words he said. He glanced round the flat, it was the same as when he saw it last, apart from a pile of magazines in the corner. He dismissed this, they could be anything, but he might sneak a glance at them later. [[hope that's OK... lol]] he steadied the flowers in the crook of his arm. He really needed to give them to the recipients or they were going to make him sneeze.
