Regulus yawned while he turned the page of another Witch Wedding magazine, not really seeing the difference between the black and white formalwear from that page and the hundreds of pages he'd looked at before it. Stacks of issues on flowers and food and other not-quite-gentle suggestions were piled on the coffee table in the flat. There were rows of half-completed invitations arranged carefully on the floor, some written for muggles, some written for wizarding contacts. Regulus had already practiced his memory charm once or twice on the little old lady across the hall and the eavesdropping tramp down the corridor, and thought that he had gotten experienced enough with it to handle a couple muggles at what would be an extremely magical wedding...in the literal and the sappy sense.
He glanced over at his girlfriend and stifled another yawn, turning a page in the magazine again without looking at it. They'd been at it until late in the night the previous day, and thus far, had done it all morning.
"Oy, Mrs. Black," Regulus drawled, the corner of his mouth lifting involuntarily as he tested the name on the only girl he'd ever loved, and ever would. "Wench," he added, more sharply to make sure he had her attention. "Love you," Regulus said, smiling fully now. Reminding her that he loved her was one way to punctuate the boredom of wedding shopping.

Adriana flipped through the pages of the current Witch wedding scrutinizing the details of flower arrangements, plate settings and everything else that was part of the reception. They were either to stuffy, to pink even to morbid; nothing seemed to have the right combination of Adriana and Regulus’s personalities to be even considered. Getting frustrated with the issue, she opted to look at the floral magazines for some inspiration. Even though a wedding of this magnitude was something she had dreamed of as little girl, she didn’t imagine that it would be so much work, much less this frustrating. Then again she didn’t think she would already be a mother before she got married, things had a funny way of working themselves out for the pair.
Looking up from her magazine, the half completed invitations sat open, mocking her and tempting her. At this rate the wedding would be done in pieces if they left projects half way done like that. Granted it was 2 in the morning when they stopped the invitations to get some much needed sleep.
Hearing Regulus mumble something about Mrs. Black she paid no attention to it thinking he was speaking about his mother, and when he called wench she looked up at him innocently. "Love you too," Adriana said, smiling just as brightly to him. Ever since he proposed she felt as if she was walking on clouds, she vaguely wondered if she had a glow much like pregnant women did.

Regulus shut the magazine and tossed it onto the table with the stack of others, letting out a long breath and running his hands through his hair. He yawned largely...they'd been up until two doing the invitations, and Katie had woken up before dawn that morning wanting someone to make her oatmeal and play dolls with her. And that someone had been Regulus...it was his turn anyway.
"Adriana," he said, picking up the next magazine and setting it on his lap without opening it. "Honey, why don't you just pick these things out? I honestly don't care what sort of flowers we get, I don't think I'll even really notice. You're prettier than them anyway, you in a wedding gown will be the only thing I want to look at in the room, no matter how many bouquets you order." Regulus put the magazine in the stack without looking at it. "My vault won't care how much you order, either. "
He slid off the couch and picked up the last invitation they'd written, thinking he'd get them done while she finished picking the flowers out. Glancing down, he saw that it was the one intended for his parents. Which was why they'd stopped at two...they'd both agreed to fight about this later. Well...now was definitely later.
"Are we still inviting my parents?" he asked distastefully. After being with him for as long as she had, there was no way Adriana could not hear the reluctance in his voice. Regulus did not want to deal with his mother in the same room as his fiancee and daughter...if they came at all. A part of him also didn't want to deal with his mother's rejection though...better not to send it, than know for sure if she'd meant it when she'd disowned him.

Adriana looked up at him from the current magazine as he called to her. "Well, I just thought you’d want to do this together. I could have just given it to a wedding planner if I would have known this. Besides I wanted you input because I figured you wouldn’t want things drowning in Gryffindor colors." Shaking her head as he brought up money, she sighed heavily. "Money isn’t the issue love, I have plenty of gold as well."
Looking up, not in his direction she thought carefully about his question. She didn’t know what to say, as they were his parents and had every right to be there, but were they willing to risk everything? Folding the corner on the page she was on, Adriana closed the magazine and turned to face Regulus.
"Do you want to?" She questioned softly, hearing the reluctance in his voice she knew that she wasn’t the only one questioning what their presence may do. She could only imagine how he must feel about his parents, even though his feelings about his mother weren’t exactly a secret. “I think that’s up to you love, they are your parents.” She said gently not really sure how she should approach the topic.

"Of course I want to do this together," Regulus said. "But looking at separate floral magazines is not doing this together. It's doing it apart, but in the same room as each other. I don't care about flowers." He leaned over, unable to keep from smiling slightly as he said, "I care about you."
He looked over when she looked up from her magazine, meeting her gaze. "No, I don't want my parents coming," Regulus said finally. "Aunts and uncles, maybe. Andromeda and Narcissa for sure. But....Sirius is my family, Adriana. Do you really want to deal with my mum...and Katie?"
He set the invitation down, frowning at it. "Out of the others....I don't know. We should do your side of the family first and use the leftover invitations on my side," Regulus suggested, smiling.

Adriana sighed as Regulus did indeed prove a point. “Well love, its not really productive if we look at the same thing together this way we get more ground covered and quicker. But I understand, you can go do what ever it is you usually do on your own, and I could finish this up." She said dejectedly, yet quickly turning it into a small grin, "I know."
Adriana looked at Regulus sympathetically, she didn’t know what he was thinking or feeling as her family was from the more sane branch of the Wizarding tree. "If your sure that’s what you want its fine by me," She said trying to sound, well she wasn’t really sure yet. "Well actually I think if we start inviting my relatives some of yours maybe as well. You know the whole pure-blood thing; I think I’m like your ninth cousin twice removed or something of the sort. Your parent will probably hear word about our wedding and it might be worse than if they just get an invite."

Regulus knew right away that he wasn't going to leave when Adriana spoke. He sighed and picked up his magazine, crossing the room and sitting down next to her. Slipping his arm through hers, Regulus proceeded to open the magazine and turn the page even though they were linked. "We can finish this together, and then you can come with me and do whatever it is we usually do together," he suggested, the corner of his mouth lifting. "Well, good."
Regulus lifted an eyebrow at the thought. "It might be worse...for them. If they came to crash my wedding without getting invited, I wouldn't feel half as bad about cursing their pureblooded arses back to Grimmauld Place and locking them up there for good." He smiled at the idea, and at the thought that Sirius would be right there next to him, shouting a few curses of his own. As the two people that had brought them into this world, Walberga and Orion Black had also been the two people to cause the most trouble for them. First by alienating Sirius, then by encouraging Regulus to make friends in the wrong crowds...and ultimately disowning them both. Their parents had never truly loved them, or each other...it had just taken Regulus longer than Sirius to realize it.
