Marissa held the last few textbooks in her hands, fumbling her way to her classroom. She managed to push the door open with her body and she quickly dropped the thick books on her desk, causing a big thump. She looked up and saw that a few students had been startled by the sound. She pushed her wavy hair out of her eyes and scanned the class.
Marissa turned back to the books that had been messily 'placed' on her desk. She wondered for a moment why she didn't just charm the books so that it would fly to her desk, or just apparate to her class instead of walking. She wanted to slap her forehead. "So stupid." She mumbled under her breath. Marissa shook her head and tried to refocus on her job.
She grabbed the textbooks and placed one in front of each student. She decided to do this just because she wanted to get a good look at the students in her class. Marissa finally finished handing out the textbooks and made her way back to her desk.
"Good morning students!" She called out cheerfully, trying to get their attention. She paused until she saw that the students had quietened down. "First of all, I am your teacher for this course. Professor Brookfield." Marissa said and nodded. "This course is for those who want to get a job that involves Muggles in someway, or just for those that are interested in Muggle culture." She said, smiling at her introduction. "I hope you are all aware, there will be an OWL for this course." She could hear some groans from the back of the class.
"Alright! You are all in your seventh year. I expect to be surprised by your knowledge!" Marissa said and paced back and forth from the front of the room. She took her wand and pointed to a mature-looking Slytherin boy. "You, What is your name?" She asked him, hoping she didn't sound rude by addressing him by, 'you'. Marissa stopped pointing her wand at him, not wanting to make the boy feel uncomfortable.

Through the dark part in his hair, his eyes looked from the book he was fingering, to the Professor, first landing on her wand, then looking past it to her. It was obvious she was speaking to him, and his first impulse was to lie, or simply not answer. He pushed these to the corner of his mind, and found it easy to place his charming smile on his lips as he leaned back, throwing one arm over the back of his seat. He let his gaze fall over her for a moment before he nodded to her. Noticing she had moved the wand away from his general vicinity, he tilted his head once again, to look at her through his hair.
"Ringo. Jonnie Ringo." He smiled, and thought of something brilliant to say, something that would capture her attention, something wonderful that might let all the other students smile or laugh, but when such a thought did not come easy to his mind, he simply replaced a comment with a question, and this one was easy to ask. "And, is this your full name, assuming your first name is not missus... do you have a real first name? Seventh years all around, we should all be mature enough to speak like adults, right?"
He smiled to her, and waited to see what his Professor might have to respond to him.

Marissa crossed her arms and tried to memorize his name. She was about to test his knowledge when he surprised her with a question of his own. Her arms fell to her side and she bit her lip. Her mind was telling her to tell the boy to give her some respect. Despite the fact she was only probably 2 years older than him. She sighed when she remembered he was in Slytherin. She had slightly hoped they had changed. But what striked her as odd, was the fact that there was even a Slytherin taking her class. Usually they were the ones who thought Muggles were inferior, and that there shouldn't even be a class for their kind.
"You're right." Marissa agreed with his opinion. After all, they should be mature enough to call their teacher's by their first name. Though, it still would've sounded a bit strange. "My name is Marissa." She walked back to her desk and took her textbook. "Mr Ringo, can you explain why Muggles need electricity?" She asked him, trying to change the subject, also wanting to know his knowledge about Muggles. But she felt an urge to be audacious. "Or should I call you Jonnie, instead?" Marissa added quickly, giving him a sweet smile.

Jonnie's eyes fell over her softly, then he nodded. He had a respect in the way she had answered the questions of his, and she had countered masterfully, and even asked a couple of her own. An intellectual joust was seeming to be in the works. Not that Jonnie wanted to fight with her, of course, but to dig in a little deep and get to know what she was about would be nice, so he decided to continue, and play along with her... She had amazing eyes, and this was what Jonnie found had continued to trip him up some. He found it odd that she reminded him alittle of Alyssa, not as cute as Alyssa, but almost. He leaned in and tilted his head.
"Unless muggles have lectricity, they can not see, for they do not have magics enough to make lights in their homes with out it. And this is not all they use it for," Jonnie talked slowly, his eyes locked on hers, not even bothering to look at any of the students around. "They use it to cook, clean, listen to music, play elevisions on, and other weird things that they can not seem to live without. Is this a good answer, M-.... Professor?" Jonnie added that last part on with a slight nod of his head, and a smile.

Marissa nodded as he answered her question. She found this student to be more respectful than she would've guessed. She appreciated how he had made eye contact with her. She smiled when he addressed her as professor instead of her first name and quickly nodded when he had finished. He had a good knowledge of Muggles and it was apparent in his answer.
"Very good, Mr Ringo." Marissa complimented sincerely and went over to her desk and took her textbook. "I forgot to mention. This book is never leaving this class without my permission. Unlike other subjects, there was no need to purchase any books because this was straight from the Muggle factories. " Marissa added in case any student was wondering. She looked around to see if any student had dropped the book as if it was cooties when she had informed them about it.
"So, please turn to page 116." Marissa said, flipping to the page with her own copy. "Our first subject is Technology." This was perhaps Marissa's favourite subject. She was amazed by the countless amounts of discoveries made by Muggles these days. "As Mr Ringo had said, for all this technology to work, there is basic need for electricity." She glanced up from her book to see if anyone had fallen asleep.
"I want you all to read pages 116 to 119 and please answer the following questions. I will be collecting this after class. Some of the questions may be asked during class too, so be prepared." She said, joking slightly. Marissa sat up from her seat and turned to the black board. She took a piece of chalk and started writing down the questions. Marissa finally finished writing the questions on the board. She flicked her hands, trying to get rid of the white powder on her fingertips. She sat at her desk and scanned the class, seeing if any of the students were slacking off. Her eyes fell on Jonnie and she thought to herself that the following questions would be quite easy for him.
