The new term would begin soon. Students had already arrived at Hogwarts. Severus sat at his desk in his office looking at the registrations for this term. He saw several familiar faces, and nodded approvingly at the returning Slytherin subjects. He would have to do something challenging for them this year, maybe something new. He was not sure, but he did know he wanted to push the minds of these wretched children into learning something this term. After all, they would be let loose on the world sometime and would need to know something.
He sighed and set aside the registrations, looking over his lesson plan he circled several different potions he would be using in class. Sometimes when teaching the earlier years it got to be so repetitive that it border lined boring, but this year he decided to change things up a bit. Of course he would have to follow all the customs and guidelines set forth to him, but there was little ways around these things. He sipped his "Bitter Bark Tea", his own concoction, as he read over his lessons for the following weeks.

Twilight walked comfortably toward the dungeons. She had never fully felt the cold down there and it still had no effect on her. One time, when Rora had come down to talk to Twyla, she had complained constantly about the cold. That was before she had changed. Twyla sighed, shaking her head. Her whole life had changed very quickly in a couple of days. Her mother had become unable to do much of anything and Rora had become super conceited.
Twyla was headed down to the Potions classroom for a reason. She had a few questions to ask Professor Snape before classes began. As Twyla neared the classroom, she sped up a bit and then slowed down. The dark door seemed almost ominous to Twyla but maybe that was just her brain over reacting to the pressure of recent weeks. Twyla raised a pale hand to push back her coal black hair and knocked on the wooden door.

Severus was rattled out of his thoughts by the soft knock on his door. Who in their right mind would disturb me at such an hour? This had better be worth my time! His thoughts as he stood up and walked to the large oak door. He traced a finger across the wrought iron knob as he grasped it and turned. He looked over Twilight a moment and down the hall, then slowly his head dropped until his eyes locked with hers. He was not surprised to see a Slytherin standing in front of him, it was always this way before classes. And Slytherin was the only students with the courage to come to Snape after hours. He sneered to the smaller girl and pushed his door opened the rest of the way. The soft wind blew several parchments around on his large desk as he moved to make room for her to enter.
"This better be good, Ms. Borealis. I was in the middle of something rather important." This was an easy lie as Snape had just been about to doze off from boredom from reading his own lessons. He glanced down to her and raised an eyebrow. "Are you going to stand out there for the whole conversation, or can you find it easier to come in and sit down?" His voice dripped venom even to his own favorite house, with one of his brighter students. It was more habit than hate, but it still suited him well.
