Aurora walked casually to the lake after lunch. She managed to get a free period at that time. It was surprising that no one seemed to be out here. Taking a minute to scan the grounds, Aurora spotted no one. It was deadly quiet. She wondered for a minute if she should owl Jonnie to keep her company but decided that he was probably in class right now anyways. Sighing heavily, Aurora continued her walk to the edge of the lake. There she sat down on the bank. Slipping off her shoes and socks she let her feet skim the surface of the clear water.
Sighing again Aurora stared at her reflection in the water. To most people she looked happy, she assumed. She tried to act happy. Most of the time she would manage to get away from the crowds before she would break down. This year seemed to be harder than past years for her. The past was coming back to haunt her and she didn’t know if she could handle it anymore. Her Ex. Boyfriend/Friend with benefits had come to her house over summer break. That hadn’t been very fun. He got a bit rough with her again. The black eye was just now going away. Glamour spells were her new best friend.

Dawn was sick of the people in the castle, the way they all stared at her as she walked down the corridors. It was true, the girl didn’t like to talk. Infact, when Dawn thought about it long enough she found out that she hated to converse with anyone that would see her again. She didn’t trust people, and she had to get away.
Sighing, she walked out of the castle and headed towards the lake. She normally had class, but her professor had given them the hour to study. If anything, Dawn could go a week without studying. That was all she ever did, and she was happy that she had a bit of time to herself.
It was nice outside, and she could already see the glass like surface of the lake. With a little twist of her head she looked for the source of the chirping she heard from a short distance. ‘A blue jay’ she thought to herself with a shrug. The bird was pretty, but didn’t keep her attention for long.
Dawn spotted a familiar face and this was an odd feeling to her. Dawn never spotted anyone she really knew. True, this person wasn’t a friend, but they weren’t a stranger either. She shook her head and decided that she would sit below a small tree. Just enough shade to keep her pale skin protected from the harsh sun.

Aurora didn't glance up at first when she head someone approaching the lake. It was about time someone came down here. She thought halfway annoyed that it was so quiet. She hated the quiet most of the time. When its quiet the only thing to really do is think. Thinking leads to to many bad memories which then leads back into depression. She would rather not get back into that.
She continued to look into the water feeling eyes on her for a second. Aurora could almost see the bottom of the lake today because it was so clear. 'Odd' she thought staring quizzically into the water wondering why. Then, she almost laughed at herself. 'Who cares about seeing the bottom of the lake' She thought internally shaking her head to herself.
What was with her lately she wondered. Ever since her and Jonnie got together she had been out of it. Was it love? She didn't know yet. Of course, she loved Jonnie as a friend but were there more feelings there. Aurora wasn't even sure if she was capable of love. She had never actually witnessed it first hand. In fact she wasn't even sure that it actually existed.

Dawn turned the page of her now opened book without a second thought about what she was reading. Potions was anything but interesting, and she narrowed her eyes as a response to her boredom. With a rough movement, she slammed the book shut. ‘Stop studying’ she thought to herself with a nod. She didn’t need the extra time, and was bored with nothing to do.
She looked back at the lake, and decided that she wanted to go sit at the shore. This was a stupid thought, because Dawn wouldn’t go over there. Not with the girl from the shop there and she almost laughed when the thought came up. “Yeah right” She mumbled to herself as she removed her bags strap from her shoulder.
Her body was sore, but Dawn couldn’t think of a reason. She didn’t really do anything besides walk. ‘That might be it’ she reasoned with herself mentally. “Yes, I suppose not using your muscles could cause them to be sore…” She laughed slightly then looked around to make sure no one was around. The last thing she needed was for people to think she was crazy. Everyone already thought she was weird.

Aurora heard a book slam shut somewhere behind her. She whiped around quickly to see who it was and saw the girl from the wand shop. 'Dawn' She thought with a small smirk. She looked like she was having fun. Aurora thought to herself sarcastically. Should she go bother her? No, Aurora decided to just stay where she was. If Dawn got to bored she would probably come over here anyways. At least thats what Aurora hoped would happen.
Turning back to face the water, Aurora laid down along the shore. It was peaceful out here. Almost as peaceful as the astronomy tower which she loved so much. Maybe she would come out here more often. She thought then immediately reminded herself that there was usually a lot of people out here. Not a very good place to try and think. Or not think depending on her mood at the time.

Dawn saw the girl lay across the bank of the lake out of the corner of her eye and pushed her lips into a thin line. The girl annoyed her, and Dawn didn’t know why. She shrugged and turned so that the girl’s movement wasn’t bothering her anymore. Dawn had to admit, she was pretty. Maybe a bit more, but Dawn would never admit that outloud. Not unless this girl did it first.
‘Wait a minute..’ she thought to herself as she looked at the girl again. Dawn not only had no idea what the girls name was, but she still had a question for her. Would she get up and ask her? Of course not, but that was besides the point.
Dawn replayed the scene in her head. She had been in the small shop, looking for a replacement. Her other one had been broken, so a replacement was needed. She shook her head, she was getting off the track. Then this girl had walked in. Not only did Dawn hide, but when she saw that the girl had seen her, she tried to act like she hadn’t noticed. That wasn’t what Dawn was remember though, she was more interested in what the girl had said. “A cute name” were her exact words. But Dawn wasn’t sure what that ment.

Aurora’s lips formed a small smirk. She could feel Dawns eyes on her. It made her laugh thinking that this girl who spent so much effort not talking obviously had a lot to say. She wasn’t sure why Dawn didn’t like to speak. She was a nice looking girl who could probably have a large group of friends if she actually showed her personality.
Aurora could remember seeing Dawn around school not that she had a chance to think about it. Dawn always seemed to be hiding behind something. Usually a book or two was what she chose to do. Aurora wasn’t sure why she did that? Why would someone put more effort into not talking or showing an emotion? Wasn’t that why anyone was even living?

Dawn shook her head with an annoyed sigh and looked back to her book. If the girl didn't want to talk, then Dawn didn't either. 'Lie' she thought to herself with a shake of her head. Dawn wanted to get to know this girl, but couldn't figure out why. She looked slightly over the crease of the book to look at her again then lifted the book again to block her view. This had to stop, but Dawn wanted to know what she had ment. It was going to bug her untill she found out.
Dawn set the book into her bag and went to get up when she froze. 'You idiot' she thought to herself. 'MOVE!' She couldn't do it though and she sighed leaning back against the tree and closing her eyes. She hated this, and needed a way to fix it.
